2022 is turning out to be the year of Alia Bhatt for all the happy news coming her way. The year started with a blockbuster delivery at the box office with Gangubai Kathiawadi. However, nothing tops the dreamy wedding that took place on April 14, 2022, when Alia Bhatt married the love of her life - Ranbir Kapoor. Just when we thought it couldn't get better or bigger - she announced her first pregnancy with Ranbir just a few days back. The post which was captioned with, “Our baby ….. coming soon", took the internet by storm in no time, and celebs, namely Karan Johar, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Tiger Shroff, Parineeti Chopra, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and even her Hollywood debut Heart of Stone co-star Gal Gadot left congratulatory messages on the post.
Coming to the Bhatts and Kapoor families, happiness knew no bounds as Neetu, Kapoor, Soni Razdan, Shaheen Bhatt, and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, all took to social media to express their heartfelt gratitude and joy. Soni Razdan shared adorable selfies of the two from one of their safari trips and captioned them with, "Gratitude. May your tribe increase." While Shaheen Bhatt shared another candid image with the caption, "Mom and dad."

However, the highlight was both Neetu Kapoor's reaction as well as her social media post. She was on the sets of her dance reality show where the paps asked her about her feelings, she responded by saying that she has only gotten to know the news from the paps. In the image, Ranbir is seen holding a ring box. It took no time for the internet to assume that the image was perhaps taken when Ranbir Kapoor had proposed to Alia on one of their trips.
2 days later, Alia yet again came back to the headlines as she lashed out at a leading entertainment portal that stated that Ranbir was on her way to the UK where Alia is shooting for her Hollywood debut. Reports further stated that he had gone there to pick her up and come back home.
